This helps to <strong>prevent complications<\/strong> and ensure the <strong>effectiveness<\/strong> of the procedure. The length of stay depends directly on your <strong>age<\/strong>, <strong>physical condition<\/strong>, and <strong>diagnosis<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the <strong>injection is administered in the cervical (neck) region<\/strong>, there is usually <strong>no need for bed rest<\/strong> immediately afterward (unless advised by your physician).<br>When the <strong>injection is given in the lumbar (lower back) region<\/strong>, the patient should <strong>remain lying down for 2\u20133 hours<\/strong> after the procedure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Based on your doctor\u2019s discretion, a <strong>soft cervical collar<\/strong> or a <strong>lumbar back brace<\/strong> may be recommended for use during the first month after treatment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>lumbar disc herniation<\/strong>, avoid sitting for <strong>more than 10\u201315 minutes at a time<\/strong> during the first <strong>three weeks<\/strong> after injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When returning home, either lie down on the <strong>back seat of the car<\/strong> or carefully sit on the <strong>front seat with the backrest fully reclined<\/strong>. Movement should be gentle and calm\u2014<strong>ask the driver to avoid sudden stops and jerks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While on outpatient care, <strong>avoid sudden movements<\/strong>, especially in the first days after the injection. <strong>Do not sit on the floor<\/strong> to prevent arthritis and herniation in other discs. <strong>Avoid sudden strain on the back and neck<\/strong> and try to <strong>change body positions smoothly<\/strong>, sit down carefully and get up slowly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use a <strong>European-style toilet<\/strong>, a <strong>comfortable chair<\/strong>, and a <strong>bed of appropriate height<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For sleeping, it is recommended to use <strong>short, soft, and wide pillows<\/strong> that allow the head and neck to remain aligned with the spine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is best to <strong>sleep on your back<\/strong>, but if you prefer to sleep on your side, keep your <strong>head, neck, and upper body aligned<\/strong> and place a <strong>pillow between your thighs<\/strong>, bending your legs at a <strong>90-degree angle<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bending, improper posture, and lifting heavy objects<\/strong> put significant strain on the back and are <strong>strictly forbidden<\/strong>\u2014especially in the first weeks after the injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When getting out of bed, <strong>first turn your upper body to one side<\/strong>, then <strong>lower both legs<\/strong> off the bed and <strong>use your hand for support as you rise<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gentle walks in fresh air<\/strong>, without overexertion or sudden movements, are <strong>beneficial<\/strong> and often recommended. <strong>Strict bed rest and prolonged lying down are not advised<\/strong>, unless specifically prescribed by your doctor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is possible to experience <strong>moderate pain<\/strong>, even in other parts of the body, during the first <strong>few weeks<\/strong> after the injection. Your doctor will prescribe pain relief medication as needed. In most cases, this <strong>pain gradually decreases and disappears within three weeks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pain-relief ointments and heat therapy<\/strong> may be prescribed to support faster healing and return to normal daily activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try to <strong>avoid emotional stress and tension<\/strong>. Please note that <strong>stress, anxiety, insomnia<\/strong>, and other psychological factors can cause <strong>psychosomatic or perceived pain<\/strong> and may <strong>worsen symptoms<\/strong>. To prevent this, your <strong>friends and family should help create a calm, supportive environment<\/strong>, which promotes a positive treatment outcome.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting from the day of the injection, <strong>you may shower and clean the injection site with soap and water<\/strong>. However, be cautious in the shower to <strong>avoid slips and injuries<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For at least three weeks<\/strong>, avoid <strong>gymnastics, workouts, or sports<\/strong> that put pressure on the spine (unless approved by your doctor), as heavy stress on the injection area may <strong>reduce or reverse the therapeutic effect<\/strong> of Discogel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the injection was in the <strong>cervical spine<\/strong>, do <strong>not drive for three weeks<\/strong>. These require <strong>physical therapy<\/strong>. Based on your doctor&#8217;s recommendation, after a <strong>cervical injection<\/strong>, you may begin <strong>shoulder and arm exercises as early as the next day<\/strong>.<br>For <strong>lumbar disc herniation<\/strong>, <strong>gentle stretching and walking in warm water<\/strong> are allowed from the first days.
